The overall rating given by the Green Energy Guide has Red Energy listed at an above-average score of 6.6 out of 10 and Origin Energy at an underwhelming score of 1.6 out of 10.

In summary, it’s clear both Red Energy and Origin Energy have plenty to offer their customers. Their rates are close to one another, with the slight edge favoring Origin Energy. The same goes for their solar feed-in tariffs – while Origin Energy is pretty standard across the board, Red Energy favors certain states over others in terms of higher rates. All in all, both retailers have a lot to offer but Origin Energy is the clear winner when everything is tallied up.
