Energy Australia vs Momentum Energy Renewables

Does Momentum Energy or Energy Australia rank high in renewable energy support? With energy retailers placing an emphasis on going greener, it’s important to distinguish which retailers are actually focusing on improving their efforts.

Energy Australia and Momentum Energy participated in a study that measured their efforts toward sustainability and support for renewable energy. The data shown below was pulled from the 2020 Green Electricity Guide (GEG) by Greenpeace.

Energy Australia and Momentum Energy scored relatively high in their overall support for renewable energy, with Energy Australia scoring an 8 out of 10 and Momentum Energy scoring a perfect 10 out of 10.

However, outside of their transparency in marketing, this is the only other category Energy Australia had high marks on. They scored zeroes in nearly every other category outside of ‘transparency in marketing’ which yielded them an underwhelming 3 out of 10.

The overall rating given by the Green Energy Guide has Energy Australia listed at a lowly 1.6 out of 10 and Momentum Energy at a stellar 8.6 out of 10.
