Energy Australia vs Tango Energy Renewables

Does Tango Energy or Energy Australia rank high in renewable energy support? Retailers are transitioning to green energy and promoting their efforts. However, it’s important to see the actual data so you can see what metrics are used and how well they fared. 

Energy Australia and Tango Energy participated in a study that measured their efforts toward sustainability and support for renewable energy. The data shown below was pulled from the Green Electricity Guide (GEG) by Greenpeace. 

Energy Australia scored relatively high in its overall support for renewable energy, with an impressive 8 out of 10.

However, outside of their transparency in marketing, this is the only other category Energy Australia scored high on. They scored zeroes in nearly every other category.

On the other hand, Tango Energy scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in the category of ‘Providing clean, renewable energy’ and an impressive 10 out of 10 in ‘Ending coal use by 2030’. However, they underperformed in several other categories with marginal room for improvement.

The overall rating given by the Green Energy Guide has Energy Australia listed at a meager 1.35 out of 10 and Tango Energy at an respectable 6.49 out of 10.
