Simply Energy vs Alinta Energy Renewables

Renewable energy has become a point of emphasis within the energy market. With many retailers going green as of late, it’s important to distinguish which retailer is actually making the effort to promote a renewable energy future. 

Alinta Energy and Simply Energy recently participated in a study that measured their efforts toward sustainability and support for renewable energy. The data shown below was pulled from the 2020 Green Electricity Guide (GEG) by Greenpeace. 

Alinta Energy and Simply Energy scored relatively high in their overall support for renewable energy, with Alinta Energy scoring a 6.6 out of 10 and Simply Energy scoring an 8.6 out of 10. 

However, Alinta Energy underperformed in nearly every other category with the next highest rating coming from their transparency in marketing at a disappointing 3 out of 10.

Outside of support for new renewable energy, Simply Energy underperformed in every category except pollution & environmental harm which has them listed at an average 5 out of 10. 

The overall rating given by the Green Energy Guide has Alinta Energy listed at a below-average 3.14 out of 10 and Simply Energy at an underwhelming 2.59 out of 10.
